visit texcommunities.co.uk
TeX helps to create sustainable communities by working with industrial textile waste and other marerials, embracing the Circular Economy, Our model is regenerative by design and works in a way that benefits communities, the environment and businesses. TeX works to create change across the six E's which form the key pillars of TeX

Education

Communities often have the knowledge they need. TeX brings people together from across the community to share their skills, knowledge and experience across generations. Through 'Makerspace's', Textile Workshops and Training we equip the next generation of talent with the skills, knowledge and passion for the sustainable fashion and textiles industries.

Empowerment

We set out to empower people to take lead in their own communities, We have built a model that works although to address the climate emergency there is not time to scale it working on our own. We want to empower others to replicate our model in their communities, building momentum behind the TeX movement. TeX also empowers people in the communities we operate, positively impacting on their lives, and raising aspirations as they connect with the six pillars of TeX.

Enviroment

To date TeX has diverted 24.2 tonnes of textiles from landfill. This has been achieved through using circular design to repurpose industry surplus, producing new products from waste and creating opportunities for our community to learn skills that help them reduce their impact on the environment and live more sustainable lifestyles.

Ecopreneurship

We set out to empower people to take Natural Entrepreneurs we are working embrace entrepreneurial skills, applying them to our work to help solve environmental problems.  Through TeX we are building a sustainable business that helps to decouple growth from the consumption of finite resources. TeX aims to eliminate all textile waste by designing it out of the industry, everything should be used to its maximum efficiency. Using our expertise as entrepreneurs we are driving change across industries.

TeX Communities oversees all aspects of the TeX brand, aiming to creative positive change across the community around the six E's; Education, Environment, Employment, Empowerment, Ecopreneurship and Enterprise.

Working with textile surplus, TeX Communities aims to eliminate textile waste, using it as a tool to support communities to reach their full potential, to build momentum behind the transition to a circular economy and allow people and the planet to thrive.

Currently TeX Communities can be found across Cornwall however we have big plans, we are working on our next phase of expansion which will see more TeX Communities hubs appearing across Cornwall and the South West, with an ambition to share the TeX Communities model globally so  solutions can be provided across the world.
TeX Innovation based in Portreath provides circular economy, resource efficiency, product design , development and alterations, and manufacturing services. Specialising in repurposing textile surplus for community benefit, TeX Innovation provides award winning solutions for businesses, helping support a transition towards a circular economy, closing the loop and increasing profits.

While finding creative solutions to repurpose industry surplus, textiles are also repurposed and reused in ways that bring further benefits to the community, TeX Innovation supports the brands whose waste we use to strengthen both corporate and environmental responsibility while creating promotional and marketing opportunities with waste being used to benefit local communities.
