Wildflowers and Bees
Every Year there are less bees to do all the important work in the gardens so this year we want to attract more so they can make lots of lovely honey- Yum yum - !
Planting wildflowers will not only attract bees and butterflies, but also other wildlife.
Wildflowers are therefore some of the best plants for bees, and ideally, every ‘bee garden’ should have at least a few of the wildflower plants in a border, or if you haven't got much space you can grow wildflowers in pots and containers quite easy.
The best time to sow annuals is between late February and the end of May. Scatter the seeds onto loose, bare soil; a sunny flower bed is ideal or in flower pot.
Bumblebees have shorter tongues and need short, open flowers with nectar within easy reach. Our wildflower seed packs are idea for that !
The seeds can be planted outdoors in soil, flowerbeds,
pots or containers. You can even spread to make a meadow!
Sow thinly to spread out more. Sow closer for density.
