We have less than a month to go and its really really exciting..
So much is planned and the day is going to be fantastic! A market with no money and a perfect day of catching up with old friends and making new ones.. The day will only work though if YOU come along and join in... We need donations for our shops that we will be setting up. Somewhere where you can drop off your swaps - bring a bag of books, pick up a few CD`s maybe a few seeds etc.. But it can only happen if you first bring you bag of swaps that you no longer need in your life.. If you want to do this before the day then we can come and collect before hand, you can come and drop off if easier and please ask for directions .. or there has kindly been a shop in town that has offered to be a drop off point for us.. Richard Hollisters shop - The upholsters near the old library ..? you can drop off there most days between 10.30 and 4 pm .. If its anything too bulky or lots of it then it maybe best that we come and collect it from you. For an idea for swaps / sharing ... Books Clothes house hold iteas seeds / plants Crafting things soft toys / any toys Cd`s Most of all .. we need you to come along for the day... If this works well we can do it again and maybe more than once a year.. Remember, everything is free, no money will change hands and this is a chance to have a great get together with friends, old and new. We are also working on entertainment for the day.. So far we have some great stuff going on.. We have a Ska Band !! a full on music set up to dance the day away We also have street dancers, Thai food for around 300 lucky people, Tug of War - or Tug of Love as we like to call it1) Tea / Coffee / Cake !!, childrens play area with outdoor games, a Nerf style Tin Can Alley, A community engagement area where we want to find oiut what you like, what you dont like and what we can do to make it better. What we are waiting on for conformation on the day ... A bouncy castle, a SAUNA !! ( A Sauna in Priory - How amazing will that be !!) And a few other things that we cant say at the moment.. It will be a great day .. We just need you .. This has been able through some brilliant contribution from the volunteers on board both individuals and teams like the Carnival girls who will be running the Clothes swishing tent.. Hope to see you on the day and dont forget .. its free ..

Our Big Get Together Its happening !!
3 years in the making but its finally happening ... We are having A Big Get Together and you are invited !! A Share Fair - A market with no money and A Big Lunch ... 18th June- Narrisa Lawn - Bodmin .. We have so much going on during the day it will be writing more later about it.. We are doing it for all kinds of reasons and you can find out more from our website page but here i can let you know a few other things... But first i got something to share with you .. I was due to write this blog post this morning... I actually got up nice and early and being a Monday that`s quite keen for me.. I was up, ready and had a head full of ideas on what to say and then.... over coffee I decided to visit Facebook for 5 mins before.... And that`s when my day changed ... and I`m not complaining... See, for the last 3 years i have been at Falmouth University studying for a degree.. Im a mature Student - 51, but feel quite young.. and today whilst on Facebook, through friends posts, I was gently reminded that its results day !! Needless to say, the Blog got put on hold whilst i went to check my results, The official results.. Its official I have been awarded the following: BA(Hons) Business Entrepreneurship ... My Classification is: 2:1 Second Class (Upper Division) Now... Its been a very long time since I undertook any type of Exam or gained a qualification and I am still trying to get my head around it but thats ok .. Today I am on top of the world after 3 years of learning not just about my chosen subject but also about the educational system we have in place in the UK. My family didnt really do education... I am the first of the siblings that has gone on to get a degree.. People from the poor end of town don't get degrees.. or so that's how it went when i was younger.. It wasnt expected from my kind .. in fact i actually left school with a 25 yard swimming exam and thats about it ... So today, the poor kid from the wrong end of town managed to get his degree ... probably around 30 years late .. but i got it.. |
