there is a Buzzzz in the air !

There is a Buzzz in the air, or there should bee !
Sadly, our bee population is in decline and this could bee a problem for our yummy honey and maybee pollination in the future.
This year we want to help save Bees by planting  mixed flowers and we have made packs of all the bees favorite flowers
so not only will they be happy but so you can help save bees with us !
Every Year there are less bees to do all the important work in the gardens so this year we want to attract more so they can make lots of lovely honey- Yum yum - !
For just £3.50 we can post you a pack of our special mixed wildflower seeds that will help grow 100`s of flowers the bees just love and this will also help us with our youth groups and other community events.
So, this year .. Can you help us save the Bees ?

Can we eat the view yet ?

Whats on my mind ?
Cornwall is .. Thats what is on my mind .. Cornwall.
As a place that i was born, grew up and choose to live i fear for its future.
This year Cornwall has been dealt some blows and this seriously may take years to recover and its all about money.
First up is Brexit .. The loss of European help that our county depends on will be stopped soon due to brexit. The Government assured voters that Cornwall would not miss out, it recognised the problems the area faced and swore to make up the shortfall in funding with the same or similar amount and guess what ? The Gov has gone back on its word and have not come anywhere close to matching it and this will leave Cornwall s growth chances floundering badly.
The same week the threat of Devonwall becomes reality. It looks like that the borders will be redrawn so now the voting regions will cover both Devon and Cornwall boundaries in the norther part as one. Again the Government has totally ignored Cornwall's minority status and the constituents here and just carried on regardless without thought to what we want. This also leaves me to think about how we react to our local MP - the great and mighty Scott Mann. !! Now i know the Tories have no heart and morals don't come into thought but i wonder what will happen on St Pirans day on March the 5th .. His office is in Bodmin , We have a large parade here and traditionally the MP for north Cornwall - in this case Scott Mann should take part in the parade .. Will he though ?? /This is the guy who is helping to bring in the boundary changes and the changes that will set back Cornwall for years. I think that if he does it goes to show he has no morals and that we either are supporting him or are in favor of the changes. ...
Other changes that are going ahead are in Education ...
After years and years of the brain drain, watching our young bright minds leaving the county to study and not to return, we finally get a University and a reason to stop the drain.. this year will see a massive cut in our schools budget - who already get less pupil premium than other parts of the UK - and to top it off, We have made it compulsory for those children to stay in education until 18 but we only provide them with transport until 16 .. Just how the hell are they suppose to get there !! ?? Now, the government wont be taking the blame on this one as in the last couple of year with buttering up the Cornish voters they offered devolution and part of that was the chance to run the transport .. What wasn't said at the time was the cuts due to the funding of transport and the impossible chance to deliver it as a viable service without cuts.
My town of Bodmin this year has faced change that some will think for the better and some will think for the worst. The Public rooms - a large central building that has been run by the town council was sold off after being closed for 4-5 years. And then we have our town library that did bring people into town. Again, a public building but this tome run by Cornwall Council. Last month this was also closed and moved out of town. Ok, yes the building it has gone into is a new building and probably very nice but the move has done nothing to keep the town alive. The town of Bodmin is no different to the many forgotten towns of Cornwall .. If its not Truro, if its not Falmouth then its not getting helped, its not getting the investment but those towns can sell off their heritage and their history to fund a half million ££ gamble on an application to try to get Truro to be the European city of culture. great for Truro ... Absolutely shit for Bodmin.. Dam. Even Redruth has more going for it !!
So why should we care about town centers ??? Well this well Government has brought in another change. This time to business rates and what happens to them... April 2017 will see a massive rise in the rates and this will lead to some small businesses really struggling to pay rates and this will be a problem .. the changes mean that those rates that would normally go back to central government will now be kept by local gov - Cornwall Council - to pay for services .. These will include childrens services, services to the elderly, transport, education etc etc etc .. And there you have it .. If the council cant or dont collect the rates then they cant deliver the services we will need. This will be there services that we all us and this is why we need the town centers and businesses in our towns to stay as healthy as they can.
So, my question is ....
Can we eat the view.?
I mean, the view is stunning down here any time of the year and we have some of the best views in the uk if not Europe!!
Can we eat it though ? I mean, when our town centers die, when our young lack those good paying jobs due to bad education, when our county becomes one with Devon and when we allow all this to happen .... Can we eat the view ???
