Bam ! What a start to the year! Cogs - Community Organisations and Groups support has got off to a flying start to the year and soon you will find us with an office in Par surrounded by a host of activity and other social enterprises and community benefit groups in Cornubia. We move in the office on the 5th of February and I think there will be a grand opening of the building sometime in May. - Watch this space to find out more. What this move will mean is that we will be able to help more people and the communities we live in and just because the office is in Par doesn't mean we are limited to that area. Already we are working with people from Plymouth, ( yes Devon!) Bodmin, St Breward, St Austell, Lostwithiel, Truro and Falmouth and we are only 20 days into the new year! It really has made a difference having the office, even though we haven't moved in yet. Our mindset has changed and for the better, the possibilities have opened up and the reach has widened already. We will be sharing the office with another project we are working on and run by us:- Tex - Textiles with a difference. Tex has also got off to a great start to 2018. The amount of donations of textiles has been brilliant and we now have enough to get creating in a more serious way. The product range is growing and we should start our first online sales in February through the sales platforms we are busy creating at the moment. Again, the potential for Tex is massive and already we have diverted a large amount of textiles from landfill and put to good use. We have also been finding out lots more about sheep ! Well, their wool to be more precise. Lucky for us there are some very knowledgeable people around us who love to share a tea and a story or two. We never really realised how big the problem is of waste in the wool industry and I think our future in some way will involve helping to tackle that problem. So, to sum up our start of the year... Bam ! Its great and we cant wait for more of it ! One of the hats recently created at TeX
